A doctor in India was defrauded of $70,000 after falling victim to a sophisticated investment scam orchestrated through WhatsApp. The fraudsters posed as representatives of a legitimate investment firm, luring the victim with promises of lucrative returns from trading stocks and digital assets.

The scheme escalated as the doctor was added to a WhatsApp group filled with seemingly successful investors, who shared fabricated screenshots of profits. Under pressure, the victim downloaded a malicious application and followed instructions to transfer funds, only to discover the balance displayed was fictitious.
